The highlight of the session was undoubtedly the presentation of Mr Bulmer's model of a master plan for the Old Trafford area in Manchester. This tangible representation allowed students to visualise the complex process of urban planning and the intricate details involved in such large scale projects. By sharing detail on the legal and regulatory frameworks that govern urban development, Mr Bulmer provided our students with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by urban planners.
The interactive element of the session, where students explored the project website and experienced virtual reality, further enhanced their learning experience. This immersive approach brought the urban planning process to life, allowing students to visualise future developments and imagine the impact of their own ideas.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Mr Bulmer for generously sharing his time and expertise with our students. His inspiring talk has undoubtedly sparked curiosity about career paths and opportunities in urban planning amongst our geographers.
We are excited to visit Manchester and see Mr Bulmer's work in real life.
