Platform theatre, with its emphasis on physical storytelling and innovative use of space, offers a unique approach to dramatic expression. The Box House team guided our students through a series of engaging exercises and activities, encouraging them to think about storytelling not just through words, but through movement, gesture, and the dynamic interplay between performers and the stage.
The workshop was a whirlwind of creativity, laughter, and discovery. Students explored how to communicate narratives physically, using their bodies to create characters, environments, and even abstract concepts. They learned how to use the platform as an integral part of the storytelling process, transforming it into different locations and playing with levels and spatial relationships.
The day was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on both students and teachers. The Box House Theatre Company's passion for theatre was contagious, inspiring our students to embrace new forms of expression and to think about performance in a whole new light. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to develop their skills, build confidence, and explore their creative potential.
Thank you to the Box House Theatre Company; we look forward to future collaborations and continuing to provide our students with opportunities to engage with the performing arts in many other innovative and exciting ways.
