Kingsley Cup Girls' Rugby Tournament: A Celebration of Skill and Sportsmanship

This Saturday, Kingsley School Devon is set to host an exciting day of rugby as 15 girls' teams from across Devon compete for the prestigious Kingsley Cup. With kick-off at 10:30 am, the tournament promises thrilling matches, a fantastic atmosphere, and a great opportunity to support girls' rugby in North Devon.

Our very own Kingsley girls will be showcasing their talent in the Bideford team, highlighting the school’s growing passion for the sport. Over the past few terms, rugby has gained tremendous popularity amongst our students, with around 15 girls regularly attending after-school rugby sessions every Wednesday. Their dedication and enthusiasm will surely shine through as they take to the field this weekend.

The tournament will take place across three pitches, with 3 pools of 5 teams battling it out for glory. Thanks to the tireless efforts of our groundsman, the bottom pitch is in top condition, with newly erected posts and freshly marked lines, ready to welcome the players.

Beyond the action on the field, we will also be running a BBQ, along with sweets and hot drinks stalls. All proceeds will go towards fundraising for the upcoming Kenya tour.

We would love to see as many spectators as possible supporting the event. Whether you’re a seasoned rugby fan or just looking for a fun day out, this is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy competitive matches and cheer on the players. It’s also a great chance for students who have been engaging in rugby during PE to witness girls’ rugby in action.

For those unable to attend in person, live scores and updates will be available through our event page on Tournify: Follow the Kingsley Cup here.

We look forward to an action-packed day of rugby and community spirit. See you on Saturday!
