Business BTEC Level 3

Summary

The BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Business will equip you with a diverse range of valuable skills, including analytical thinking to assess data and trends, numeric proficiency for managing financial information, effective communication for business interactions, problem-solving abilities to tackle business challenges, and enhanced cultural awareness to navigate global business environments. Your progress will be evaluated through a mix of exams, set tasks, and assignments. Exams and set tasks are scheduled for January and May/June, with opportunities to re-sit if necessary. Assessments for Units 1 and 2 will take place in Year 12, while Units 3 and 8 are completed in Year 13. Throughout the course, you will complete a total of five assignments, giving you a well-rounded understanding of the business world.


Course Details

The course consists of four units delivered over two years: 

Unit 1: Exploring Business (Internal)
Learn about the characteristics and purposes of different businesses, including how they are structured and operate.

Unit 2: Developing a Marketing Campaign (External)
Understand marketing principles and apply them to create a successful marketing campaign for a given business scenario.

Unit 3: Personal and Business Finance (External)
Gain knowledge of both personal finance and the financial aspects of business, essential for running a business effectively.

Unit 8: Recruitment and Selection Process (Internal)
This unit offers insight into the recruitment process, including practical experience in developing job roles and conducting interviews.


Recommended Entry Requirements

GCSE Grade 4 if studied, or Pass in BTEC Level 2.
